Covid-19 Data Updates District 2 Counties

HALL COUNTY – Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, and the need to increase public awareness about the health of our counties, District Two Public Health will provide weekly updates to the public about COVID-19 vaccinations, hospitalizations and deaths.

District Two encompasses 13 counties in the north and northeast part of Georgia. These counties include Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White. It is important that these communities take action to ensure that they protect their health and their loved ones against COVID-19.

The district is again seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases, the hospitals are filling up, and it is necessary to remind residents that vaccination is important for the health of the community. No matter your vaccination status, wear a mask if indoors and social distance. Vaccination is the key to getting out of this pandemic. Vaccination lessens your risk of infection from the virus by three and a half times, your risk from getting ill from COVID-19 is eight times lower and the risk of hospitalization or death is 25 times lower. If you are feeling sick and wish to be tested, District 2 has free testing available every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm located at 2500 Allen Creek Rd, Gainesville, GA 30507 at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex.
