GAINESVILLE – As public health moves from COVID-19 response to recovery, the drive-thru testing site at Union General Hospital will permanently close on June 16.  This testing location has been in operation since Winter 2022 as a partnership between District 2 Public Health, Union General Hospital, and LTS.

District 2 Public Health departments will continue to offer FREE at-home COVID-19 test kits and vaccines to the public.  Visit any county health department to pick up a test or get up to date on your COVID-19 vaccinations.

District 2 Public Health Departments are open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays 8am to 5pm, Tuesdays, 8am to 7pm, and Fridays 8am to 12pm.  Health departments are closed from 12:30pm to 1:00pm for lunch.  Vaccines and at-home COVID-19 test kits are available during office hours.

It is not too late to get a COVID-19 vaccine or booster. Everyone six months and older is now eligible to be fully vaccinated.
