Georgia Flu Surveillance Update: Week 42

Week 42 (Ending October 21, 2023)

As of Week 42, Georgia flu activity is Low=5 (on the scale of 1-13). Activity levels are based on the percent of outpatient visits in Georgia due to Influenza-like illness during this timeframe.

For the corresponding week, the percentage of outpatient visits for Influenza-like Illness was 3.7% (regional baseline is 3.3%), the number of influenza-associated death was 0; the number of Metro Area Influenza Hospitalizations was 10; and the number of Influenza Outbreaks was 2.

Graphic shows in week 42 that Influenza-like Illness (ILI) had stable number of cases for age group 0-4, 5-24 and over 50. On the other hand, age group 25-49 had slight decrease in cases.
