Children’s Awareness Month 2025

June is Children’s Awareness Month — a time to celebrate, support, and empower the next generation of leaders!

Did you know the name June comes from the Latin “juvenis,” meaning youth? Here at District 2, we are honoring the joy of childhood and reminding others to prioritize children’s health, well-being, and futures.

This awareness month was originally founded to remember children lost to violence. This awareness initiative has grown into a powerful movement of love, awareness, and action.

Week 1: Healthy Bodies, Bright Futures

Every child deserves a healthy start!

This week let’s focus on mental health, nutrition and physical activity—key building blocks for lifelong well-being.

Whether it’s choosing fruits over chips, heading outside for 30 minutes of play, or setting boundaries, these small steps make a BIG difference.

Tip: Try making a healthy meal together as a family this week. Maybe introduce morning affirmations into your routine!

Week 2: Empower Through Education

Education opens doors and builds confidence.

Children’s Awareness Month is the perfect time to support early learning and school readiness at home and in our communities. Reading together, exploring new ideas, and asking questions help young minds grow!
