The cat was taken to a vet on Sunday February 22, 2026 for diagnosis where the Veterinarian put the cat down for neurological issues. The cat was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab, Virology Section, in Decatur. The White County Environmental Health Department was advised Thursday February 26, 2026, that the cat tested positive for rabies.
