Healthy Homes Start Here: Lead Prevention Program Launches Free Mini Pantries in District 2

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting healthy homes and preventing lead exposure, the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program is excited to introduce fully stocked mini free pantries in four District 2 counties: Franklin, Hart, Lumpkin, and Stephens. These counties were selected based on data highlighting areas of greatest nutritional need, particularly among families with young children.

Each pantry contains nonperishable foods that help families stretch their budgets while supporting children’s health. Items rich in calcium, iron, and vitamin C are included because these nutrients can help reduce lead absorption in children. Educational materials on lead prevention are also included, providing guidance to families on creating safer, healthier homes.

This food is available to anyone who needs it.
