Lead In Soil
Summer means more outdoor play — but be careful where kids dig in the dirt. Lead exposure can harm a child’s brain and development, even in small amounts. Here are some tips to help keep your children safe:
- Wash hands and toys after outdoor play
- Don’t let kids play in bare soil near roads or construction areas
- Avoid letting kids eat dirt or put hands in their mouths
- Rinse homegrown fruits and veggies well
