Children’s Awareness Month 2025

Week 1: Healthy Bodies, Bright Futures

Every child deserves a healthy start!

This week let’s focus on mental health, nutrition and physical activity—key building blocks for lifelong well-being.

Whether it’s choosing fruits over chips, heading outside for 30 minutes of play, or setting boundaries, these small steps make a BIG difference.

Tip: Try making a healthy meal together as a family this week. Maybe introduce morning affirmations into your routine!

Be Prepared for Winter Weather!

During extremely cold weather or winter storms, staying warm and safe can be a challenge. Winter storms can bring cold temperatures, power failures, loss of communication services, and icy roads. To keep yourself and your loved ones safe, you should know how to prepare your home and your car before a winter storm hits.

Women’s Health

District 2 Health Departments offer services for women’s health, family planning, birth control, pregnancy testing, prenatal case management, cancer screenings, as well as breast and cervical cancer prevention programs. Access these services and more by calling or visiting your local health department.
